Gas has been struck at Yenugupalli, near Pasarlapudi, and Devarapalli in the Mandapeta area of the KG basin, and the availability of gas is two lakh cubic metres and 80,00 cubic metres a day respectively.Also for the first time in the KG basin, a new layer - its geographical name is Tirupati sand stone - has been discovered.
