The owner of the Ban Krud power plant in Prachuap Khiri Khan (Thailand) has submitted a new environmental impact assessment to the Office of Environmental Policy and Planning. A spokesman for Union Power Development Co expressed confidence the assessment answered all environmental problems which could result from the plant's operation. Natee Sithiprasasana said the company had opted for a new closed water system which would reduce the discharge of heated water to 800,000 cubic metres a day from four million cu/m.
