India is planning to set up its first geothermal power plant in Chattisgarh state that will use heat energy extracted from the earth's interior. The state-owned National Hydroelectric Power Corporation is hopeful of commissioning the 1 MW project at Tattapani Geothermal Fields within one-and-a-half years.
