Germany's energy industry pulled out of talks with the government on setting a timetable for the closure of the country's nuclear power stations. Chairmen of the main energy utilities withdrew from so-called "consensus" talks with the government, pending resolution of a seprate dispute over the tax burden they face as a result of legislation introduced by Oskar Lafontaine, finance minister.
