GMR Vasavi Power Corporation Ltd, which has set up a sewage treatment plant to recycle water for process use at its 220 MW diesel generator power plant, was awarded the 1999 Dr. M.S.Swaminathan Award for Environment Protection by the Rotary Club of Madras East.
