In a vote face, Goa's coalition Government has dropped all modified proposals of privatising transmission and distribution of power. Private power generation would be permitted only by competitive bidding and signing the power purchase agreement. The Wilfred D'Souza Government has also decided to sell excess power of 100 mw, which the Government is unable to wheel from NTPC despite allotment through Fusion Energy Technology Pvt Ltd, Mumbai-based private firm, who would pay 10 paise per unit to the tourist state.
