The Maharashtra government has announced the setting up of a negotiating team under the chairmanship of former Union home secretary Madhav Godbole for carrying out discussions with the Dabhol Power Company (DPC) with a view to reduce the power tariffs as well as to explore sales of DPC power to third parties in the event that the Maharashtra State Electricity Boards (MSEB) is unable to absorb the full production.
