The state government has decided not to buy power from phase-II of Dabhol Power Company till the Godbole committee comes to a decision on the fate of the second phase of the project. The decision assumes significance as the second phase of DPC is set to become operational from June 7. DPC has recently informed MSEB that the first 740-MW block of the second phase will be commercially operational on June 7. The second phase has a total capacity of 1,444 MW.
