Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has requested the chairman of the 12th Finance Commission to provide a special economic package to Assam State for infrastructure development, flood control and improving road communication. An official release said that Gogoi recently met commission chairman Dr C Rangarajan in New Delhi and stressed the need for constructing all-weather roads connecting both urban and rural areas for rapid economic development of the State.
