The Gujarat State government announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh to every village that excelled in "mutual amity, unity and overall development'. State agriculture minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasma, while making the announcement, said that a sum of Rs 5 crore had been allocated for rewarding around 500 villages to be called "TeerthGram', if they fulfilled these criteria.
