- Govt fears health aid cut

  • 06/05/1998

The government is worried that foreign aid in the health sector may be slashed drastically in the coming years and is taking urgent measures to prevent it. The government fears that in the World Health Assembly at Geneva next week, representatives of the developed nations will initiate a move to reduce aid in the health sector for poor countries, pleading first, that they do not have adequate funds themselves and, second, that the recipient administrations still lack the infrastructure to use the funds properly.
