Govt not for legal steps: Jacob

Irrigation Minister T.M.Jacob told the Assembly that the Government had no plans to take legal steps to protect the State's rights in connection with the Parambikkulam- Aliyar irrigation project as the talks for review of the pact with Tamil Nadu were progressing. Replying to questions, Jacob said that some of the clauses in the agreement signed in the 1970s were harmful to the State and this was highlighted during the ministerial and official level talks with the neighboring State.
