The City of Panjim Corporation Bill 2002 which was assented to by the Governor of Goa on January 23 has been notified and published in an extraordinary official gazette of the government of Goa today. However, much will depend upon the next notification which will have the areas to be included in the Corporation. Sources said in view of public protest from St Cruz and Penha-da-Franca villages, the government will go by Schedule I. The notification which is expected to come by next week, will explain the government's intent on the areas to be included or excluded vis-a-vis the present jurisdiction of PMC.
