With an aim to effective implementation of district-level planning, the Gujarat state government had decided to set up district level planning committees, to be headed by state ministers, who will directly supervise the developmental progress of their allocated districts. Kaushik Patel will look after Anand and Vadodara, health minister Indravadan Jadeja will supervise Surendranagar and Kheda districts, Sabarkantha and Dahod district by minister Ramanlal Vora, navsari and Narmada districts tribal development minister Magubhai Patel, Bharuch and Dants districts by home minister Amit Shah.
