The government has prepared a paper for the development of the ethanol industry. The paper's recommendations, if implemented, could lead to a saving in petrol worth Rs 10,000 crore per year. The paper, prepared by the ministry of non-conventional energy sources, will be placed before the new cabinet at the earliest.
