The Centre today told the Delhi High Court that a fresh notification would be issued to seek opinion from the public over the issue of bringing amendments to the building by-laws in the Capital to increase roof top water harvesting. The court was told by the Union urban development ministry the fresh notification would be taken out soon. Officials of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and Public Works Department also told the court that all the encroachment in and around 249 water bodies in the city will be removed by October 31.
