As per Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's promise of enabling India join the league of developed nations by 2020, the Planning Commission on Thursday detailed its report on "India Vision 2020." Based on recommendations by Dr S P Gupta Committee's report on developmental aspects to turn around India's future, the Plan panel roadmap essentially supports the need to build a political consensus to evolve a broad national development strategy.
