The Committee of Natural Resources and Environment Conservation has condemned the government for scrapping the cabinet resolutions of the Chavalit Yongchaiyudh administration. The committee, run by 16 tertiary institutions, said decision denied local people access to manage forest resources. It said the government had been unreasonable in revoking the resolutions passed in April 17, 22, and 29 last year, which were the fruit of a painstaking effort and negotiations between forest-dwellers and the state.
