Wambo Power Ventures had delayed start-up of its 450 megawatt gas-fired power station in Queensland due to uncertainty about government greenhouse policy, the developers said on Thursday. Wambo business development manager Trevor St Baker said the A$180 million project, which would take a year to develop, was now targeted to begin generation in second quarter 2001.
