Greenpeace urged the European Commission to oppose EU-financing of the Ukrainian nuclear reactors Khmelnisky-2 and Rovno-4 to replace the Chernobyl reactor destroyed in the nuclear disaster of 1986. The European Commission is considering a Euratom loan for K2R4 of up to US$ 610 million.
