A secret deal between Bill Clinton and Tony Blair for the UK to reprocess and store 5kg of Georgian nuclear material outraged environmentalists after details were leaked. The decision to airlift the highly enriched uranium from a research reactor near Tblisi to a reprocessing facility at Dounreay in Scotland has sparked off a controversy because the US and France refused to take the waste.
