Environmental activists are going to court to block exploration in Pakistan's largest national park by a foreign company that sees the area as one of the country's best gas prospects. The case, scheduled to start next Tuesday, is an attempt by several non-governmental organisations to have a concession granted in 1997 by the government of south-eastern Sindh province to Premier and Shell Pakistan (PSP) withdrawn on the grounds it violates an earlier ordnance on wildlife protection.
