Group of Kerala villages exposed to high natural radiation

People belonging to a group of villages in Karunagapally taluk of Kerala are exposed to a much higher dose of natural radiation than the global average, since they live in a monazite belt where the soil has a high thorium content. This is one of the few High Back-ground Radiation Areas (HBRA) of the world.
