The Uttar Pradesh Government has launched a major developmental programme in the districts adjoining the Indo-Nepal border. The Government has sanctioned Rs 8.32 crore under the border area development programme to be used in 19 blocks of Balrampur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Pilibhit and Shravasti districts during the current financial year.
