In a major blow to naptha producers in the country, the Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) has decided against the purchase of power from the three naphtha-based power plants in the state namely the 515 mw Essar power plant at Hazira, the 165 mw GIPCL plant at Vadodara and the 655 mw PowerGen plant at Pagathuan. The decision is being enforced with immediate effect.
