The Madhya Pradesh government today declared Guna district as 'water scarcity area'. ''In view of below average rainfall received in the district coupled with problem of drinking water, the Guna district has been declared as a scarcity area,'' District Collector Mukeshchand Gupta said. He said use of all the equipment for drawing water had been banned barring those used for boring government tube wells and also those used by civic bodies till the next monsoon season.
