Tests made by reputed testing units, both official and private, show that water from borewells and wells in many parts of Bangalore exceeds the desirable hardness of below 300 parts per million(ppm).Data from a Government testing unit and two other industrial testing houses, reveal that while Corporation water meets the criteria, the hardness of ground water in many localities, including some prominent ones is above the desirable level.
