HC clamps down on polluting motorists with stern measures

In a welcome directive on curbing increasing vehicular pollution in the metropolis, the Bombay high court on Wednesday directed that a fine of Rs 1,000 be imposed on vehicles breaching the prescribed emission norms of 65 hartridge smoke units (HSU). Second time offenders will be dealt with more severaly and their registrations will be suspended for 15 days.
