Healthcare workers looking after tuberculosis patients stand two to ten times greater risk of catching the disease than others and nurses fall in the highest-prone group. According to a senior doctor of the institute of medical sciences at Banaras Hindu University, Dr. Agarwal, said the tuberculosis hazard to nurses, physicians and other healthcare personnel had increased over the years with a rise in the active cases of the disease.
