The high cost of power provided by the Enron-promoted Dabhol Power Company is scuttling any possible solutions proposed by the Centre or Maharashtra to solve the crisis. Even if Enron promises to bring down the tariff, expensive capital cost and the dollar denominated cost of electricity and liquefied natural gas will anyway make it more expensive.
