High Court directive to Government

The Allahabad High Court directed the Uttar Pradesh Government to release the quantum of water released into the Ganga from the Arora dam to 1,500 cusecs per day. A two-judge Bench comprising justice A. N. Ray and Justice Ashok Bhusan also directed the District Magistrate of Kanpur to ensure that effluents from tanneries are not released into the Ganga and asked him to appear before the Court on the next date of hearing, January.
