The Himachal Pradesh Forest Minister Mr. Roop Singh Thakur, announced that the government has decided to introduce rain water harvesting systems for taking care of domestic consumption in the state. Speaking at the 6th meeting of the Society of G.B.Pant Institute of Himalayan Environment and Development held in New Delhi, Mr. Thakur said to ensure environmentally sound sustainable development of the Western Himalayan region, ecology should go hand in hand with economy, culture and livelihood of the people of these areas.
