HP Govt committed to balanced development

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has said his Government was committed to ensuring balanced development in the State. There was an urgent need for generating employment opportunities for unemployed youth, Mr Singh emphasised. He was addressing a meeting convened here to seek suggestions from MLAs to finalise the Annual Plan for Himachal Pradesh for 2004-05. The Chief Minister said there was need for harnessing the State's vast hydel power potential, improving the tourism infrastructure and remodelling the industrial policy. He further said he would soon take up with the Central Government matters such as 'providing maximum funds for road construction' and reviving the 'Rural Infrastructure Development Fund'.
