Hubco shuts down generating units

Pakistan's Hub Power Company (Hubco) said on Monday it had temporarily shut down all four of its electricity generating units because the state-utility Wapda did not need power. "Three generators were shut down on Sunday," said a spokesman for the foreign-sponsored Hubco, which is locked in a bitter tariff row with the government. The three units were shut down because its only client, the state Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), said the electricity was not needed, the spokesman told Reuters.
