Greenpeace has called on countries of the European Union to seize the opportunity presented by the closure of Ignalian unit 1, and permaently close one of the world's most dangerous nuclear power plants. The second reactor has been closed since April for maintenance which means that Lithuania is now relying on non nuclear sources for all its electricity.
