Increasing water crisis in the state has thrown normal life out of gear in the city. If the monsoon does not arrive within a month, there will be no drinking water left in Imphal. Almost all the water reservoirs and natural sources have dried up and most public health engineering department (PHED) projects have stopped functioning. The PHED projects based on the Imphal river and other small rivers are no longer functioning.
