The Nuclear Fuel Complex has for the first time manufactured Zircaloy import substitutes for the nuclear reactors in the country. "This is a unique achievement", said NFC chief executive Dr C Ganguly. Addressing a Press Conference he said," The Post-Pokhran sanctions imposed on India have proved to be a blessing in disguise, for NFC scientists and engineers who have responded to the challenge and developed Zircaloy--4 import substitutions for both nuclear and non-nuclear applications".
