Importance of mangrove forests highlighted

Speakers at a function being held in Karachi, Pakistan stressed the importance of mangrove forests which on hand save the coast from erosion and also act as breeding grounds for many commercially important marine species. Speaking at the inauguration of the 13th annual Asia Pacific Conference of WWF, they said the mangroves plays an important role in the fragile coastal ecosystem. The title of the conference is Fortifying Conservation.
