The Bharatiya Janata Party has unveiled its vision for making India a "developed and a great power" by 2020 - a goal it promises to achieve through aggressive globalisation and modernisation. Releasing the Vision Document 2004 on Tuesday, the BJP chose to re-articulate its national "vision". While the document seeks to effect a marriage between 'swadeshi' and globalisation, earlier mutually anti-thetical, there is an attempt to shed the confrontationist element from its three contentious core issues and reset the cultural moorings of its ideology.
