India is raising a whole generation of cretins simply because most people are not getting enough of the right food, top nutrition experts warn. "More than 50 per cent of children at the critical under-five age are stunted because of protein and micro-nutrient deficiencies which can readily be corrected through the right mix of policies', says Dr. C. Gopalan, president of the Nutrition Foundation of India.
