India ranked 143 in purchasing power parity

The latest World Bank indicators rank India 143rd in terms of Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) Gross National Income out of 152 countries for which data has been compiled. In 2001, the latest year for which data has been used for the indicators, India's PPP Gross National Income (GNI) stood at $2,913 billion. The country's per capita income in terms of PPP works out to $2,820 for the year. PPP GNI is gross national income converted to international dollars using purchasing power parity rates. An international dollar has the same purchasing power over GNI as a US dollar has in the United States.
