India today committed to contribute $ 2.5 million for funding of Indo-ASEAN cooperation programmes. Making this announcement at the ASEAN Regional Forum meeting, External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha said though India and ASEAN had pursued functional cooperation across several sectors, including science and technology, trade and investment, transport and communication and other fields of mutual interest, there was still a long way to go. "We have taken some small steps in this direction," he added.
