India would make use of spent nuclear fuel from the proposed Russian nuclear power stations (2x1000 mwe) at Kudankulum in Tamil Nadu to enhance the Indian fast breeder programme under the safeguards of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This was stated by Dr Anil Kakodkar, Director of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), at a question and answer session after a lecture on 'Development strategies for growth of nuclear power', organised by the Indian Nuclear Society here on Wednesday.
