The pace of growth in the next 15 years will far outpace the growth rate in the last 14 years, making India a wealth producing nation, if not the wealthiest. But the growth is linked to a 550 million strong and skilled work force, which has the potential to create wealth. Finance minister P Chidambaram stated this at the launch of Sigma, a corporate mentorship initiative. Calling it "a demographic dividend", the finance minister stated that India would be the only country in the world where the size of the working population will continue to rise for the next 20 years.
