Indians would pay more for better power

Indian's consumers would be more than happy to pay higher electricity bills in exchange for a guarantee that the lights would stay on, according to a survey published. Suresh Prabhu, India's power minister said the Confederation of Indian Industry survey showed that even farmers, who receive free or heavily subsidised power, were in favour of paying for electricity in exchange for a reliable supply.
