India and Russia have signed a memorandum of understanding for taking up joint technology development projects and programmes in deep sea exploration and exploitation and relevant instrumentation. The agreement envisages joint endeavours by institutions in the two countries towards design and manufacture of underwater marine instruments and other equipment, as also oceanographic research and exploration, with the assistance of the industry.
