Industry help to save forests

Jamshedpur, July 5: The forest department is trying to rope in public sector enterprises to conserve forestland and thus promote eco-tourism.
Sanjeev Kumar, the divisional forest officer (DFO) of Dhalbhum, today convened a meeting with representatives of Uranium Corporation of India Ltd (UCIL), Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) and Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board to look into how the corporate houses could help in development of forest land and villages in respective mining areas. The DFO discussed prospects of developing Rajdoha village in Potka block as an eco-tourism project.
