International consortium bags $1.6 b TN project

An international consortium has won the bid for setting up of a power plant and a liquefied natural gas terminal project in Ennore, Tamil Nadu. According to an official of the Michigan-base CMS Energy Corporation, the consortium won a $1.6 billion contract to develop, finance , build, own and operate a 1,886 MW power plant and a 2.5 million tons per year LNG reception, regasification and storage facility. Its bid was chosen over prequalified bids submitted by three other international consortia.
