Hounded by goons and ignored by apathatic authorities, the inventor of a unique gas saving gadget has been turned to a shoe shine boy. Mr Debajyoti Bandopadhyay, 33, frail and famished in appearance, can be found hard at work in his new profession outside the Talkatora Stadium as a protest. Mr Bandopadhyay, who is orginally from West Bengal, had invented a gadget which saves 40 per cent of liquified petroleum gas and already sold more than 1,000 pieces of the device. It was patented in June 1993. The equipment was certified by the Dhanbad-based Central Fuel Research Institute.
