Stepping up its offensive against the Vajpayee government for "endangering the country's economic policy," the Swadeshi Jagran Manch on Monday launched Sangharsh Yatra, a two-month nationwide agitation. The SJM also accused the Centre of succumbing to the WTO pressure. Flagging off the yatra, senior SJM leader Dattopant Thengadi criticised the Centre for its "anti-labour, anti-farmer and anti-small scale industry" policies and claimed that these were the "direct manifestations" of accepting the WTO's terms and conditions detrimental to the Indian economy. "WTO agreement has flooded the country with foreign goods and is endangering economic independence of the country," Mr Thengadi said.
